Larry Morris, FFCC Steering Committee Member
Mr. Morris has over 42 years of experience in the public transportation industry. He, most recently, served as a Region Vice President for First Transit, Inc. One of the largest public transit providers in north America. Mr. Morris also served for 21 years as the Executive Director of the Westmoreland County Transit Authority. He has also had increasingly responsible management roles for transit systems in Texas, Florida, and Pennsylvania.
He received the Pennsylvania Transit Manager of the Year award from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in 2014.
Mr. Morris has actively served the Westmoreland County community. His roles included the following:
Pennsylvania Public Transportation Association – Chair, Vice Chair, and Treasurer
Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission – Commission Member & Chair, Transit Operators Committee
Planning Commission, City of Greensburg
Westmoreland County Smart Growth Partnership – Leadership Advisory Committee
Westmoreland County Retired Senior Volunteer Program – Advisory Committee
Larry is an active member of Charter Oak Church where he has served on the Church Council and the Board of Trustees. He has been a small group leader for many years and currently is leading a small group for men. Prior to moving to the Greensburg area, he serviced in churches in Jacksonville, FL, Beaumont, TX and College Station, TX.
Larry holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.
